Most people are aware of Customer Relationship Management (CRM), but the need for effective management equally applies to relationships with suppliers, partners and other third-party organisations.
Relationship Management (RM) software seeks to draw together the structured information about other parties (such as contact details, relationships and responsibilities), records of the actions and events that have occurred with those parties, and all the documents that relate to those parties into a single unified view.
RM software will also typically include a project view so that all the information about a project and the parties involved can be seen and managed from a single view. This makes it much easier to control the project, particularly where multiple agencies are involved, and provide supporting information whenever issues or disputes arise.
A strength of RM software is that it also often provides a portal view for external parties to view selected information and documents about their dealings with you, as well as provide an ongoing channel for communication with them.
